CMC ProTech BiWire Carabiner

Wire gate carabiners became popular in the climbing world because of their light weight and high strength. The BiWire adds a totally new dimension to the concept by creating what is effectively a locking wire-gate carabiner. Two distinct and opposite actions are required to open the gate. This patent-pending design features an outer gate which protects the inner gate and prevents rope or hardware from opening it. Neither pressure from the outside or the inside of the carabiner can cause the gate to open. This makes the BiWire a safer alternative to a non-locking carabiner. The BiWire design is inherently strong and the gate is very resistant to dirt and ice.

CMC Rescue Aluminum Locking D Carabiners

 

UL Classified to NFPA 1983 (2006 edition)- Light Use
An aluminum carabiner designed for rescue applications where high strength must be combined with minimum weight. Although slightly larger than most montaineering aluminum carabiners, the CMC design is still easy to operate with one hand. On the Screw-Lock models, the nuts lock on the gate to prevent jamming. The Quik-Lok models have a two-stage locking gate and a very smooth action. The red Quik-Lok has a Captive Eye that will keep a web strap or an attached rope in place.

CMC Rescue Oval Carabiners

 

Aluminum non-locking carabiners provide a variety of utility functions such as racking equipment or as the "keeper" carabiner on a load-release hitch. The oval design places equal amounts of force on the spine and gate allowing the carabiner to maintain full strength. Ovals are also used in critical climbing or rescue applications where a stuck gate must be avoided, and then are always used as pairs, rigged opposite and opposed.
