Before using a new rope, we recommend soaking the rope in clean water overnight.

When the rope is manufactured the threads have a coating on them to make them flow through the production machines easily. Soaking the rope in water removes this coating making the rope less slippery.

Since polyamide (nylon) fibers are hydroscopic, soaking it in water will also cause them to shrink slightly. This will make the rope a little more firm and perform more consistently.

After soaking the rope in water, leave it out to dry before using it.
