SKU VX2SET Category

The Rock Exotica Arizona Vortex Multipod is ideal for a wide range of applications, from access and egress to confined spaces, to the negotiation of complex edges in wilderness environments. The Vortex is the multipod of choice for professionals within rescue, industrial rope access, construction, military and entertainment rigging.

The term Multipod is all-encompassing and refers to three possible setups:

  • Tripod: Using three legs. (Standard recommended setup)
  • Bipod: Using two legs only. (Advanced setup & training required)
  • Monopod: Using one leg only. (Advanced setup & training required)

The Rock Exotica Vortex Multipod is referred to as a portable anchoring device (by the NFPA), or most commonly known as an artificial high directional (AHD). It is used to elevate lines above edges, entries, or obstructions in rescue or work operations and is ideally suited for most edge-mitigation applications including confined space entry, mine, cliff and industrial rescue operations. It is also well suited to bridge and dam inspectors, rope access, the construction trades, military and the movie industry.
